CHILD EDUCATION

EDUCATION.

Education is the engine of transformation. It unlocks opportunities, equips people with problem-solving skills, and encourages civic engagement. FAWOYDI’s education efforts help children and youth escape cycles of disadvantage while promoting leadership, innovation, and informed decision-making within the communities.

FAWOYDI's investment in education improved both access and quality. By training educators and supplying essential learning materials, the organization enhanced classroom effectiveness. Physical expansion efforts included constructing new classrooms, thereby easing overcrowding. FAWOYDI also influenced policy development by contributing to legislation that strengthens education laws and governance. Their promotion of life skills and values in curricula underscored a commitment to holistic student growth, preparing learners not just academically but socially and emotionally.

FAWOYDI carried out a focused awareness campaign targeting sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Bauchi State, with special attention to girls’ schools. The initiative aimed to raise consciousness, galvanize student-led advocacy, and foster dialogue on the pressing issues surrounding SGBV.

FAWOYDI visited prioritizing institutions with predominantly female students. Through interactive sessions, students were encouraged to voice their concerns, share experiences, and participate in developing collective solutions to prevent and address violence. Over 1,500 girls were directly sensitized on the realities, consequences, and prevention of SGBV. These engagements not only raised awareness but also empowered students to become advocates for change within their schools and communities.

The programs successfully planted seeds of dialogue and resilience, strengthening a sense of agency among adolescent girls and cultivating a safer, more responsive educational environment. FAWOYDI’s presence in schools served as a catalyst for youth-led activism, and positioned students as stakeholders in the fight against SGBV.

They trained teachers, community leaders, community volunteers and parents in recognizing and preventing abuse and exploitation.
