About Fahimta Women & Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI)
Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization, which was established in the year 2003 in response to the pressing health and social needs of the excluded and the disadvantaged in the rural and urban communities. The organisation was registered with Cooperate Affairs Commission in 2005.
The founder of the organization Hajiya Maryam S. Garba deem it necessary to contribute to provide services for the vulnerable and underserved groups so as to complement government effort and enhance livelihood and make the group self reliant.
The organization has been growing steadily; the staffs of the organization are competent and committed to the services that will contribute to the development of the organization and the entire target communities.

Main Goals
Main Goals
- Assist in decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality due to harmful traditional practices and ignorance.
- Contribute to the reduction of infant morbidity and mortality due to childhood preventable diseases and malnutrition.
- Participate in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS including mother to child transmission and reduce stigmatization against People Living Positive (PLP).
- Increase the enrolment to primary school and retention up to completion to secondary school in our selected communities with more emphasis for girls (Girls Child Education).
- Promote reduction of Poverty through capacity building and empowerment.

- Transparency and accountability:
FAWOYDI organization operates an open program and financial system to all its stakeholders (Partners, Donors and all staff including volunteers). The organization always ensures that all projects are carried out according to plan and financial expenditures are strictly followed according to laid down policies and procedures. Report of the organization's activities are documented and shared to all stake holders.
- Honesty:
FAWOYDI ensures all staff promote honest practices, integrity and sincerity.
- Quality reproductive health services:
Reproductive Health issues is the main concern of the organization, FAWOYDI ensures all staff are working to promote quality RH services. This is achieved through health education, capacity building, supplies of health equipment and drugs. FAWOYDI also constructs and renovates health facilities with support from partners.
- Community empowerment:
This is another area the organization values, beneficiaries of FAWOYDI shall posses the knowledge, understanding and capability to identify and resolve their problems. Staff of FAWOYDI shall facilitate the process.
- Mutual respect:
The organization values respect to its staff and other stakeholders at all level, regardless of one's status (Disable, People living with HIV/AIDs, Orphan and Vulnerable Children etc).
