FAWOYDI Team


Maryam S. Garba

Executive Director/Founder

Maryam S. Garba an activist, development worker and a professional health worker, (Nurse/Midwife and Community health worker). Worked with Ministry of Health, Health Management Board Bauchi and Railway industrial hospital Zaria and Bauchi from1974 to 2003. During her service years she served in various capacity which include; Officer in charge of various health facilities, and retired as deputy director and baby friendly coordinator Bauchi state. She attended several trainings and workshops both nationally and internationally which include Women in management CEDPA Washington DC, Advance Leadership training ASCON, Accountability and leadership training Arusa, Tanzania, Leadership and reproductive health training, Nairobi Kenya. These wealth of knowledge acquired made her outstanding in during her service years Her passion to help and support the less privilege made her to establish Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) in 2003 after her retirement. This action and many more made her to receive a lot of award and commendation from both local and international partners.


Ibrahim M. Baba

Admin Manager

Ibrahim M. Baba is a graduate of Bayero University Kano, in 2012. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication, National Diploma in mass communication and advanced certificate in mass communication. He studied computer operation and data processing at prof. Iya Abubakar community resource centre. He served as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication Federal Polytechnic Bauchi during his National Service, worked at Baitul Hikmah College Bauchi as the Head of English Unit. His personal passion for serving humanity and desire to contribute to human development informed his decision to join FAWOYDI as Administrative Manager. His primary responsibilities include; oversee and ensure the day to day running of all administrative works of the organisation, serves as a link between management and the entire staff, organises management meetings, prepare agenda and minutes of management meetings, serves as an interface between the organisation and her external publics, as well as ensure safe and proper record keeping of all administrative records of the organisation.


Tamkeyar Nelson Kawe

Program Manager LRP.

Nelson T Kawe is a humanitarian and development worker, graduated from Modibbo Adama University of technology Yola in 2013. He started work as a credit officer with Development Exchange Centre Bauchi( A National NGO) in 2004 and rose to the rank of an Area manager in 2012 and resigned in 2013 . He also worked with Billiri Ecwa Theological Seminary Kufai, Billiri –Gombe State as assistant lecturer from 2013 to 2015. Currently he is the program manager with Fahimta organization under LPR project (Local Rights Program) saddled with the responsibilities of coordinating LRP and PFA programs. He interacts with and influences both internal and external stakeholders, participates in organizational issue and resolutions, leads team in identifying defining project strategies, developing goals and ensures project scope is defined and achieved.


Mustapha Idris

M&E Manager

Mustapha Idris is a graduate of University of jos in 1992 and started working with Nigeria Bottling Company jos as an account clerk in March, 1989. Mustapha Idris has worked in many private organizations which include: Nigeria Telecommunication Jos as an intern in 1990, Shadan international computers as an Accountant in 1994, Nasco Household Product Ltd as an accounts supervisor in 1995, Unilever Nig. Plc in 2004, John Holt Nig. Plc in 2007. His personal passion for development and change implementation drove him to Fahimta Women and Youth Development initiative, an indigenous NGO since 2010. Currently, he is the Program officer, Strengthening Citizen’s Engagement in electoral Process (SCEEP) which is a governance project that is aimed at supporting citizens (Women, Youths and persons with disability) to participate in and influence electoral process and promote the emergence of a politically better informed electorate at grass root level.


Dinah D. Istifanus

Finance Manager

Dinah D. Istifanus is a certified accountant with Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), obtained her HND in accounting from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi. She worked with Development Exchange Center (DEC) from 2003 – 2005. She joined FAWOYDI in 2007 as finance officer. Currently, she is the finance manager of the organisation responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Ensure accurate compilation and analyze financial transaction to prepare financial statement including monthly, quarterly and annual accounts. Ensure all financial records are kept and maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.


Salaudeen Tawakaltu B.

ICT Manager

Salaudeen Tawakaltu .B is a graduate of computer science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi in 2012, she worked with DSTV branch office bauchi as a customer service representative in 2013-2015. She is has undergone train on web design and oracle database management system. Her passion for inclusive development, change and serving humanity inspire her to join FAWOYDI. She is currently the ICT manager of the organisation in charge of managing and monitoring all the affairs of the ICT department.


Daniel Florence

Program Officer RTI/LEAD

Daniel Florence graduated from LAUTECH in Oyo State with BTECH in Science Laboratory Technology; she is a registered and certified scientist with NISLT. She was a once an industrial trainee with Specialist Hospital Bauchi in 2008, a science teacher in St Paul’s Comprehensive Secondary School Bauchi for a period of two years but her passion for the less privileged and the excluded drove her into development work She is currently working with FAWOYDI in pursuit of its Organisational goal, Mission and Vision.


Tosin Suberu

Programme Officer (LRP/PFA)

Tosin has an HND in Accounting which he obtained in 2006 from the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi. He works with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative, Bauchi as a programme officer. He has a great passion for social development work. He has a vast knowledge in the areas of good governance, education, sustainable agriculture and women's’ rights with over 5 years experience in programming/communication. He is passionate about contributing positively towards upliftment of the conditions of vulnerable people through continuous partnership, improved knowledge base and empowerment that will push for social change and development. he is organized, can work independently; he is able to effectively multi-task to ensure the success of organization goal. He is a team player and has great leadership quality also has the analytical skills to diagnose problems and devise viable solutions. He currently oversees the LRP (Local Right Program) and PFA (Public Financing Agriculture) projects which is financed by FAWOYDI’s partner ActionAid and work with men, women, youth and children at grass root level.


Zipporah Daniel

Programme Officer TYDF

Zipporah Daniel graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic in 2010 and started working with Gombe Jewel Hotel in January 2013 after her Youth service and as a Teacher with Baptist Royal Academy Bauchi in 2015.

Currently working with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) as program officer under TYDF project. Zipporah is in charge of Facilitating all activities and outreach relating to Education, serve as facilitator during Education training in the targeted LGA, attend donor meetings, relevant capacity building workshops and report to the organization, in collaboration with other team members ensure timely submission of all activity report(monthly, quarterly and annually),participate in proposal writing for the organization and Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.


Juliana Samaila

Program Officer HES

JULIANA SAMAILA a graduate of HND in Marketing from Plateau state polytechnic Jos 2010, served at katsina state Batsari LGA in the year 2011, Juliana work with first bank plc jos main branch as Data capturing clerk (customer care) in 2009. Currently working with FAWOYDI as Household Economic Strengthening (HES) field officer STEER project in the year 2014 till date. Basically Juliana orients and mentor the formation of Village Savings and loan Association at the community level, also organized training for all beneficiaries on IGA, Business Development, value chain and market opportunity for the pro-poor.


Mohammed Usman

Program Officer Steer TB/HIV Project(Registered EHORECON)

HND holder in Public Health Technology, graduated in 2010 from College of Health Technology Ningi. He obtained a certificate in West African Health Examination Board (WAHEB), Certificate on preventive health service in Specialist Hospital Bauchi, worked at Ningi Clinic and Maternity as Preventive Health Officer on Malaria Prevention and treatment Ningi LGA of Bauchi State 2011-12, Rahama Clinic and Maternity Gwaram LGA Jigawa State, he holds a Certificate on National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program (NTBLCP) Zaria, Kaduna state 2014, also held the office of TB program officer, Tuberculosis and leprosy control program (TBLSP), in charged on Direct Observed Treatment Support, 2012 – 14. With this vast knowledge and skills, he was employed as nutrition officer with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI), trained as Community Infant and Young Child Feeding (C-IYCF), currently shifted from Nutrition Program officer to TB/HIV Program Officer, based on his personal interest. He directly mentor and coordinate the activities of 20 volunteers from four LGAs of Bauchi State for proper reporting and documentation.


Solomon Adamu

Program Officer

Studied Special Education and Rehabilitation Science from university of Jos in 2012 and worked with VSO/NYSC Youth Corps Volunteer Program 2013- 2014 as a volunteer. His personal passion for development work and humanitarian service led him to serve at Special Education School Tudun Maliki, Kano State during his NYSC Service Year. Currently he is the Program Officer RTI/LEAD a USAID funded project. As the officer in charge of the project he is saddled with the responsibility of organizing, implementing, writing reports on all activities executed in the project and report to the Program manager, work with the M & E officer to capture all programs executed for proper reporting and perform other duties as may be assigned by the organization.


Faith Adidu

Admin Officer

Faith Adidu HND holder of Office Technology and management from Federal Polytechnic Bauchi 2012 and started working with FAWOYDI in 2014. Her personal passion for development and change implementation drove her to join FAWOYDI. She saw being a part of FAWOYDI as an opportinity to make lasting impact in the communities around her. Currently, she is the Administrative Officer that coordinate internal affairs of the organization. She arranges meetings internally, collect all record, all invitation letters and inform all responsible persons for activities, support all the sectors in project activities, keep records of all visitors who wants to see any officer, keep records of staff movement register, help staff in any secretarial duties and any duty assigned by the management.


Henry O. Alikali

Finance Officer

He attained a Post Graduate Diploma in education in 2011 and a Higher National Diploma in Accounting in 2009 and a Diploma in public account and audit in 2006. He has also worked as a teacher at sure nursery and primary school Bauchi, and a FLEET MANAGER at AYM SHAFA LTD 2015. He is skilled in preparing accounting reports using accounting software packages. Presently, he is a finance officer with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative.


Blessing Samaila Namchi

Finance Officer (PFA)

Blessing Samaila Namchi she is an accountant, graduated from college of Administration Azara Bauchi in 2008. she started work as secretary in divine intentional she also worked with Buhari business cente as typist 2005. Currently she is the finance officer with Fahimta organization under PFA project (Public Financing in agriculture). With this vast knowledge and skill come to fahimta 2010 work as clerical /typist officer in admin department, now move to account unit as (PFA) Public Finance in Agriculture finance officer. My experiences includes; Periodic financial reporting to funders; Record keeping; Expenditure tracking; Dispatching of Staff Salary Schedules; Preparing & maintaining Cashbook, Bank Reconciliation Statement & Payment Vouchers; Simple routine accounts; and other administrative roles like General filing and indexing; Maintaining a register for incoming and outgoing mails; dispatch of mails; Receiving of visitors; General typing of official documents; Keeping and maintaining records of file movement and rendering assistance to the Finance Manager as delegated.


Tajuddeen Yunusa

M&E Officer

Tajuddeen Yunusa is a Public Administrator, who read Diploma in Local Government Administration (ATAP Bauchi, 2006), Higher National Diploma Public Administration from Fedpoly Bauchi and Postgraduate Diploma Public Administration and Policy from University of Maiduguri in the year 2015.

He worked with Bauchi Local Education Authority as Clerical Assistant, Youth and Adolescent Health Initiative and Counseling (YAHIC, Bauchi) as Finance and Administration Assistant. Currently he is the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer STEER Project that is charged with overall monitoring and supervision of STEER Project, data collection and ensure quality of the data by verifications and validations, record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way, analyse and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data, provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the Project Manager and Partners, Ensure that implementation of field activities adheres to monitoring and evaluation system, Participate actively in programme planning process and budgeting.


Muhammad Kamal Muhammad

M&E Officer - TB

His from Bauchi State – Katagum Local Government Area, of Bauchi State. He attended Federal Poly Bauchi where he obtained HND in mass communication also attended BUK - Kano where he graduated and Obtained PGD in Mass Communication and Media Technology.

He once served as Adhoc Staff of Monitoring & Evaluation of Constituency Project for One year Consultative Assignment at National Assembly Abuja. He also worked with Civil Awareness and Economic Empowerment Initiative (CAEI) as Ward Coordinator, He worked with Excellent Foundation International Health (EFI-Health) as Assistance Ward Coordinator Kubwa-Abuja Nigeria. currently working with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) as M&E Officer for STEER TB Project.


Salim Bindi Simon

M&E Officer

Salim Bindi Simon is a Computer Scientist whom graduated from the University of Bingham and also a cisco certified network associate with two years experience in the field. Salim also carried out an internship program in Airtel Nigeria in collaboration with HUAWEI Inc. in 2013 to 2014. With this vast knowledge and skill set, Salim was privileged to work with FAWOYDI in collaboration with RTI/LEAD as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer which entails assessing where a program is at a particular point in time so as to inform the management with a clear basis for decision making. To also give the Program Managers the extent to which their programs are meeting their objectives and leading to desired effects with a major data collection scheme of videos and pictures collection from beneficiaries and other FAWOYDI Projects also. He is professionally skilled and Handy with hard and soft ware aspects of the computer with a major of networking.


Shehu Garba

M&E Officer II Steer Project

He is from wase local government of plateau state; he attended federal polytechnic Bauchi where he obtained HND in banking and finance in 2012. He worked with NASCO Household Company in Jos as store officer for 5 month in 2014. Currently with Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative Bauchi as M&E Officer II STEER PROJECT.


Simon Idi

ICT Officer

Simon Idi is a Social welfare officer, who is certificated by Social Development Institute Ningi, Bauchi State (Moderated by Kaduna Polytechnic) being embedded with vast knowledge and skills in social Case work and social welfare services during his studies, Simon also work with Joe Business canter as typist, Simon has Proficient knowledge and skill Versatile with use of MS word, Excel, Corel draw, picture editing, Internet assising, website update etc. Having an inductive reasoning to explore new ideas in social work role out with the ability to work in community development program to touch people’s life, Simon started work with FAWOYDI in March, 2008 as volunteer, this have set Simon a part to exceeded to work with FAWOYDI as office assistant in the year 2009, shortly promoted as intermediate staff, he was promoted as SUPERVISOR Care and Support Services on IHVN Project in 2011-2012. Simon served the organization as M&E Tship project in 2013. He also served the organization as M&E ECR project in 2015. His current Position in the organization is ICT assistant.
